Pure Essence International, Inc. (PEI) started in 1995 producing soap noodles from different oil blends and high quality bath soap. As part of its expansion, the company set up new production lines to produce Coconut Methyl Ester (CME or Biodiesel) and Refined Bleached Deodorized Oil.

Coco Methylester (CME)

Produced through trans-esterification of triglycerides of coconut oil. It contains a variety of fatty acid methyl esters with carbon chain lengths between C6 to C18:2, C12 an C14 carbon chains are the most common.

Coconut Acid Oil

Is also a by-product of CME process.  Black, slightly viscous liquid, produced by acidulation of Sweetwater – top layer.

Coconut Fatty Acid Distillate (CFAD)

Is a by-product of RBD or Refined Bleached Deodorized Oil process, extracted through distillation.

Crude Glycerin

Is a major by-product resulting from the manufacture of Coconut Methyl Ester (CME) process (sweetwater), further purified by distillation and acidulation using hydrochloric acid. Contains 80-85% Glycerine.
